What attracts you to NUOVA’s programs? Why this year?
- I'm particularly looking forward to introducing the students to the Feldenkrais Method as it is for me. In general though, an occasional dose of NUOVA is a good way to test your nerves...

Tenor and Pianist Corey Arnold has trained in voice and vocal physiology at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, The Feldenkrais Institute of New York, The Linklater Institute of New York, and is currently working on refining his craft with Maureen Stark and Maria Pellegrini. Credits include: Don Jose in Carmen, and Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus both with UOttawa Opera Productions, and Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor with Appoggiare Workshop. Most recently he stepped in with one weeks notice to learn Gherardo and Beppe, in Southern Ontario Lyric Opera's double bill of Gianni Schicchi and Pagliacci. Corey has also performed in several musical theatre productions and has worked with the likes of John Kander, Judy Kuhn, and most recently, Brent Carver. As a pianist Corey has Music Directed or accompanied over 15 musical productions in Detroit, various cities in Ohio, and in Ottawa. He also stepped in as repetiteur for Pellegrini Opera's production of Tosca.
Offstage, Corey is the Assistant Artistic Director of Pellegrini Opera. In this role, he co-founded The Vernini Collective, a group of artists which connect new audiences to high culture events, and he produced and performed in a fashion show/opera hybrid. Also active in composition, he has composed two musicals, including a commissioned work, and is currently working on the libretto for his first Opera.
Corey has a particular passion for harnessing artistic potential within the performing arts. In his personal studies, he has worked with Linklater Voice Technique, Lessac Kinesensics, NeuroLinguistic Programming, A Course in Miracles, and became a Feldenkrais Practitioner through training at the New York Feldenkrais Institute. He is VERY excited to have an opportunity to share this work with the participants at NUOVA.
