How are you preparing for NUOVA’s program?

  • As a past participant I have to say that Opera NUOVA is the most rigorous training I have experienced to date. To get myself prepared mentally and physically, I am learning new pieces each week to get my mind into multitasking territory and getting into a healthy eating and exercise routine.  Stamina is everything! I'm also devouring books that challenge and expand my imagination so I'm ready to play in the magical world of "Into The Woods." Sing, stretch, sleep, repeat.

Artist Bio

Mari-Ann is a Newfoundland born, Alberta raised, Toronto based singer and actor and is positively thrilled to be returning to Edmonton (where she trained in the UofA's BFA Acting program) to immerse herself in song. She considers it an true gift to return to NUOVA to pick brains, learn more about learning, and playing, and loving to sing and (of course), play one of her dream roles: The Baker's Wife in Into The Woods. Mari-Ann would like to express her eternal gratitude to Kim MW and the entire NUOVA team for the generosity that makes a program like this possible.
