Biography
Stage director Rob Herriot returns to Opera Nuova after directing Tartuffe for last year’s festival. Previous Nuova seasons include, Patience, La Boheme, Oklahoma, Don Giovanni and Beatice and Benedict. Elsewhere he has directed productions of, Cinderella, HMS Pinafore, Turandot, Magic Flute, Candide, Tosca, The Mikado, Pirates of Penzance, Daughter of the Regiment, Madama Butterfly, Barber of Seville, Carmen, La Traviata, Rigoletto, La Boheme, Lucia di Lammermoor, Rigoletto, Don Pasquale, Don Giovanni, Marriage of Figaro, Cosi fan tutte and Tartuffe and Beauty and the Beast. He has worked with companies across North America including, Manitoba Opera, Edmonton Opera, Opera Lyra Ottawa, Utah Opera, Arizona Opera, Connecticut Opera, Livermore Valley Opera, Opera Nuova and Rainbow Stage. His productions have been nominated for 2 Betty Mitchell awards as well as 4 Sterling awards. He is also works as an instructor for young singers, helping hem improve their performance and acting skills. He is thrilled to be back working with one of the best young artist training programs in North America.
