Ten-Day Development Program
Program Dates: May 12th, 2023 – May 21st, 2023
The Ten-Day Development Program is designed to offer participants an opportunity to experience the intensive environment for which Opera NUOVA has garnered an esteemed reputation in a shorter program. This program is offered as an affiliate spring program to The King’s University.
For ten days, 12 hours per day, participants will receive instruction in Creative Process, Acting, Alexander Technique, Clown & Mask, and Movement. The schedule includes mini-master classes, coaching and private lessons with esteemed faculty and dedicated teachers. The program culminates in a concert for the NUOVA Opera & Music Theatre Festival.
Five-Week Intensive Training Program

Opera Performers: May 13th, 2023 – June 18th, 2023
Musical Theatre Performers: May 20th, 2023 – June 24th, 2023
Designed for Canadian singers, who are of advanced standing with considerable previous training, this six-week intensive program is a must for those who wish to focus on further developing technique while simultaneously working on their performance skills. This comprehensive program provides instruction in Creative Process, Acting, Movement, Alexander Technique, Clown & Mask, Diction, Language and Vocal Interpretation taught by distinguished faculty who are experts in their field. Our guest teachers, who are internationally recognized artists, give daily mini-master classes, public forum master classes, private voice lessons and professional development seminars.
In addition to classes, private coaching and lessons, this program provides artists with the opportunity to learn and perform a complete role in a fully-staged and orchestrated opera and/or musical. The Intensive Program mirrors a professional experience in that singers are expected to prepare their role(s) prior to arriving. Music and staging rehearsals begin on the second day of the program.
Upon completion of the Emerging Artist Program, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion. Students may receive course credit depending on their institution and should discuss course credit with their faculty representative. Students attending the following universities may be eligible to receive course credit for participating in this program:
