Role(s) in this year's festival:
Répétiteur/Pianist: “The Consul”
This is her first year at Opera Nuova, and she is most excited for the sense of community and camaraderie that forms through collaborative music creation and performance.
Elisabeta Cojocaru just completed a MMus piano performance degree at the University of Ottawa, studying with David Jalbert and Carson Becke. In recent years, she has been awarded first prizes at the Hamilton Music Festival, the Maureen Forester Performance Award and the Heidt Performance Award whilst attending Wilfrid Laurier University, where she completed her BMus. In addition to her achievements as a soloist, she has worked as the pianist for Opera Laurier’s production of Jules Massenet’s Cendrillon and continues to serve as a collaborative artist within the Ottawa community. As a soloist participating in summer festivals in Europe and North America, she had the opportunity to study and perform in masterclasses with world-renowned pianists such as Stephen Hough, Ozario Maione, Charles Richard-Hamelin, and André Laplante.
