How are you preparing for NUOVA’s program?

I have purchased my score for The Consul and am highlighting and translating and learning the music. I am listening to the two operas as well and watching clips on YouTube to get a chance to see how the roles have been interpreted in past productions.

What attracts you to NUOVA’s programs? Why this year?

I was recommended to audition from both my vocal coach and my vocal teacher. I have heard about NUOVA in the past and was very intrigued about the professional experience and performing opportunities that are involved. This year I am financially able to attend.

Artist Bio

Felicia is a 22 year old soprano from London, Ontario. She has recently finished her Bachelor’s Degree in Voice Performance at the University of Western Ontario with Rachel Mallon. While she first started out in musical theatre with shows such as Les Miserables, All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten, and the original musical Grace Mission by Len Cuthbert; she has since been more interested in the world of opera. In 2019, she had a busy summer with the participation at the St. Andrews Vocal Techniques Workshop in New Brunswick led by artistic director, Wendy Nielsen. That year she also participated in the Ontario Youth Choir for the first time where they performed in London, Goderich, and Toronto. This year at Western, Felicia performed the role of Giannetta in Western’s production of Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’amore under the direction of Simone Luti.

Felicia is excited to make her debut with Opera NUOVA this year and is looking forward to a summer full of singing!
