Hugo: "Tuck Everlasting"
I am preparing for NUOVA through my studies in music this year at the University of Manitoba, as well as through my participation in various musical theatre programs throughout Winnipeg. Alongside this I am busy preparing songs, rehearsing lines, and figuring out the logistics of the program whenever I can.
I heard a great deal of praise for NUOVA various instructors at my university, and so I decided to look into it. I was impressed by the various offerings in classes, as well as the performance opportunities available through the program. I wanted to do the program this year as especially with the pandemic I have felt starved for the opportunity to perform and work with my fellow artists in person. While that has of course been necessary, I am eager to experience all of the amazing opportunities that NUOVA offer!
Kyler Humble is a Tenor from Winnipeg, Manitoba. They began their study of music when they were 14 with their high school musical, and since then have been avidly pursuing a career in music. They have been doing this through various choir and musical theatre programs, including the StudioWorks Senior Company, MTYP’s musical theatre company and the Pembina Trails Voices choir. In addition to this, they have studied voice privately for several years under Melanie Whyte. This past year they began studying classical voice at the University of Manitoba, with Mel Braun as their vocal instructor. They are excited to participate in NUOVA this year and experience the many opportunities that the program will provide.
