2021: Participated in the Hybrid Program

I am actively reviewing my roles in each opera I am casted in, as well as taking the time to figure out each character character I am playing. Since this is my first time preparing a role (or in this case, multiple roles) for an opera, I have been taking a lot of guidance from my teacher James Westman in my preparations. He has already given me a lot of insight on the best practices to use for practicing, working with my conductors and directors, and working on character.

As I have been told many times by James Westman, Opera NUOVA provides one of the best opera training programs in North America. As a young artist, I felt that it would be in my best interest to pursue this opportunity. I completed the Hybrid Program last year, and I decided that I wanted to do this year's program so I can experience the full program in-person, and work on multiple operas.

Nohl studied computer science at the University of Western Ontario, and also completed a minor in music. In his time at Western, Nohl studied voice with Brian McIntosh, and James Westman.
