Province/Territory: Alberta
City: Calgary

Role(s) in this year's festival:

Miles Tuck: "Tuck Everlasting"

I am preparing for the years NUOVA program by really digging into myself to find who I am as a musical theatre artist and finding what it is exactly I can bring to the table, and finding out what it is that I can't bring to the table so I know what it is I can be working on throughout the program. The way I'm doing that is honing in on my voice as a singer and singing songs that challenge me whether that be style or range. For me this highlights my strengths and weaknesses.

What attracts me to NOUVA is it's short but intense focus on training a musical theatre artist. I am currently studying in the BFA at the UofA, and though the UofA's program is full of great learning opportunities, musical theatre goes wayside. So I see this as an opportunity to get real, intense and fulfilling musical theatre training while I'm still in my education period as an artist. And I am approaching this year as this is my last summer before I am graduated from UofA and I want to have as many tools under my belt before I do.
